First time in almost half century that I see a tapir whistling...What a beautiful animal! This male walks often close to the Bameno, an indigenous Huarani tribe located at the intangible area of Yasuni National Park, Ecuador, to eat the fresh grass around the village early mornings and by the end of the day. This was just after I left at mid day. According to the Huoaranis, it is unusual to see this animal during the day.
