A baby Gray Brocket Deer walks in front of one of our cameras in the savannas of the Cerrado. The species is widely distributed in Central and Eastern South America, mostly in open environments such as the Caatinga, the Cerrado, and the Chaco. It is found on the Atlantic Forest, but it is absent from the Amazon Basin, where it is replaced by the Amazonian Brown Brocket Deer (Mazama nemorivaga)
